I had the incredible honor of working on this project for the Jicarilla Apache Tribe of Northern New Mexico. This game was intended to be an educational tool for the native Apache youths as well as a means of recording their rapidly-diminishing culture. I used Softimage to create the models for this interior environment and photoshop was used for texture map creation. Total completion time for this room was about 50 hours or so.
A view looking into the bedroom area from inside the main room of the house. The interior environment for this project consisted only of these two rooms (the main room and the bedroom).
I was given some very old original B&W photographs to work with on this project and I ended up using some of those photos in these rooms. After being entrusted with such valuable posessions I developed a true appeciation for the Apache's sense of generosity and good faith in strangers. Total completion time for this room was approximately 30 or so hours.
