These pre-rendered tiles are part of a tile set I created for an RPG Adventure game entitled The Revenant. All in all, I created a total of seven different tile sets for this project.This particular tile set was created from my home studio before joining Cinematix in 1998 as their full-time Art Director for a brief portion of the project. There were approximately 60 or so tiles in this particular set, making it the smallest of the bunch. All of which were created using Softimage and Photoshop. This "Townhouse" tile set was also created from my home studio for Cinematix. Approximately 120 or so tiles were created for this particular tile set which were then used to create a majority of the townhouses within the game. Total completion time for this tile set was approximately 5 weeks. A few more tile samples from the "Townhouse" tile set... A few samples of another "Townhouse" tile set I created while employed at Cinematix. Approximately 110 tiles were created for this particular tile set with a total completion time of less than five weeks. This particular castle tile set was created from my home studio in 1999. The sample door texture located at the bottom-right corner is an example of some of the real-time textures which were mapped onto some of the real-time elements within the game - wherever real-time motion was required. Approximately 120 or more tiles were created for this set which required a little more than four weeks to complete. Individual tiles are designed to link together in a myriad of ways to create a wide variety of options for the level designer to choose from. The same tile sample combination with the addition of a roof. This is a basic example of the many potential variations that must be kept in mind during the design process in order to ensure that each individual tile maintains a high compatibility rate without losing its individual characteristics or features - thus resulting in something that is overly generic in appearance. As usual, one must find a balance. ;) A small sample of tiles from a dungeon tile set containing more than 240 individual tiles - making it the largest tile set created for the game. For this particular tile set I worked with two additonal artists and served as a Lead Artist of sorts while employed at Cinematix studios. However, The tiles shown above represent a select portion of artwork that I personally created for the set. Some tile samples from another tile set which I created for The Revenant back in 1998. This particular tile set contained more than 130 tiles which were all created within a month from my home studio for Cinematix Studios.

This is a "screenshot" sample from the final game featuring the use of some of the tiles I created from the house and street tile sets. The actual game levels were created and lit with real-time lighting by the LD (level designer) at Cinematix using the tiles which I provided from my home studio.
